Do you love Starbucks’ green tea lemonade and want to make it yourself? Then you’ll want to try this Starbucks copycat green tea lemonade recipe so you can have this delicious refreshing beverage without leaving your home!

Why We Love This Green Tea Lemonade Recipe

The Starbucks line of Refresher drinks are some of my favorites on their menu. They are light, and crisp, and to their namesake (good job, Starbs marketing team), refreshing!

I love grabbing a green tea lemonade in the afternoon, but there is just something so convenient and cost effective about making it yourself. A venti green tea lemonade costs roughly $5 at my local Starbucks, but when I make it at home, I can make an entire pitcher, about eight venti servings, for just over that price.

While this Starbucks copycat recipe is cheap to make, it’s also nice to have on hand for a cocktail mixer, or as a mocktail option for those who don’t drink alcohol.

This recipe is adapted from Robyn over at Add a Pinch. I loved how closely her recipe mimicked the Starbucks drink, but I wanted to have more on hand so I adjusted slightly.

Ingredients in Starbucks Copycat Green Tea Lemonade

There are very few ingredients in this easy iced green tea lemonade recipe,, and an entire pitcher comes together in under ten minutes!

    • Green tea: I just buy green tea bags at the grocery store, but choose your favorite tea option!
    • Lemons: this recipe calls for fresh lemon juice squeezed from lemons, but if you don’t have any on hand, or don’t want to go to the effort, store-bought juice works just fine!
    • Water
    • Sweetener: I make my own simple syrup following this recipe, but you can buy this at the grocery store, or just add sugar instea.

You’ll need to heat water to steep for the green tea. You can boil water on your stove, or I like to use an electric tea kettle like this one.

You’ll also need a carafe to store the drink in the fridge. We just use a plastic one with a lid similar to this one, but any carafe would do.

How to Make Copycat Green Tea Lemonade

Making a Starbucks green tea lemonade at home is simple, super cheap and delicious. Here’s the step-by-step guide to this great copycat recipe.

    1. Add the green tea bags to boiling water and steep according to the package instructions. Remove the tea bags without squeezing them to avoid bitterness, then discard. Allow the tea to cool.
    2. In a different container, mix water, lemon juice and simple syrup.
    3. Once the tea has cooled, combine the lemonade mixture and tea mixture. Serve over ice, or store in the fridge for up to a week.

Tips to Making Green Tea Lemonade

    • This homemade green tea lemonade recipe is great to try with different flavors. You can buy flavored syrups, or when making your own simple syrup (recipe here), you can add fruit which will transfer to the syrup.
    • You can mix 4 oz of green tea lemonade with an ounce and a half of vodka for a refreshing alcoholic cocktail.
    • Green tea lemonade can be stored for a week in the fridge, but I’m sure it will be consumed before then!
